Talent Pipeline and Development Coordinator Overview

The Talent Pipeline and development coordinator is to work closely with the Talent Acquisition Team and the TPOE Team to identify both internal and external talent to be part of the pipeline accelerated development program to eventually be hired into hard to fill clinical roles. The role is to primarily focus on all pipeline and development initiatives to create bench strength and fruition the effort into full time hires.

This is achieved through the establishment of relationships with key stakeholders internal and external to the organization that includes High schools, Colleges, Universities and trade organizations such as BOCES and Chamber of Commerce in addition to departmental heads and Clinical areas including Nursing Education.

The role will focus on working on new programs and practices that will enable building our pipeline for targeted positions, at the same time work on getting our existing programs such as the Healthcare marathon Series, Bridging certification and licensing programs with key partners to accelerate development and take the UHS accelerated Development Program with 24 identified beneficiaries to the next level of development and career acceleration.

This individual is responsible for overall Career development, administering the required training and creating the work environment with key stakeholders for converting opportunities into real time jobs for the pipeline candidates. The role also helps in analyzing the results of pipeline efforts, relationship matrix and developmental efforts being pursued for accelerated development.

This position reports up to the Talent, Performance, and Organizational Effectiveness Organization and works closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Business partner organization and key stakeholders who are Hiring Managers and departmental heads of targeted clinical positions that the initiative focuses on.

The position will be instrumental in leading the Accelerated Development Program and the Talent pipeline Taskforce and enable positive learning environment for pipeline candidates.

The role will also be focusing on creating a positive learning Hands on coaching and leadership development interventions.

Talent Pipeline and Development Coordinator Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Assesses the career path requirements of multiple hard to hire positions and targeted requirements of the organization as it evolves in order to keep the pipeline up to date in terms of positions and people required
  • Facilitates the development of identified candidates (both internal and external) with a targeted developmental path to accelerate career growth and optimize potential and providing coaching and developmental support including personal effectiveness and leadership training and coaching to the identified pipeline talent.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders internal and external to the organization for pipeline initiatives
  • Ensures that the pipeline strategy is well understood by the key stakeholders and make it an overall aligned effort with Talent Acquisition in meeting their goals and with appropriate design and delivery of 70-20-10 learning initiatives
  • Provides suggestions to the Human Resource Business Partner group and business/hospital unit leaders in the development of competitive pipeline efforts and initiatives that increase attraction, performance and retention levels within the respective employee population(s) that feeds into the talent pipeline within the organization
  • Implements UHS’ organization-wide talent pipeline strategy as identified and articulated by the TPOE and TA functional areas, including the various procedures and practices needed and the most appropriate method(s) to deliver these pipeline initiatives powered by learning solutions
  • Ensures consistent application of tools, resources, and processes across the organization – including assessments, Role analysis, Employee pulse through surveys in order to move the needle on pipe line initiatives
  • Evaluates current and new pipeline initiatives including learning and development offerings in terms of its relevance, application and success rates and track their effectiveness against pre set metrics and norms
  • Keeps abreast with industry trends and the market environment; incorporates technical expertise, best practices and business imperatives in developing strategies, processes, tools and programs that increase success rates of pipeline initiatives

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in human resources, or a related discipline
  • Three to five years of work experience in a healthcare or similar industry and patient-centric or customer-centric organization setting working with management and organization/leadership development

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in human resources, or a related discipline
