The Peer Support Specialist provides peer support, information, and advocacy to individuals diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness living or a substance use disorder, in order to assist them in regaining control over their own lives and recovery process, and integrating into the community. They engage with patients hospitalized at Binghamton General Hospital Behavioral Health Inpatient.

License/Certification


** Minimum Required: Peer support specialist certification within 6 months of hire**

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
