PACS Application Analyst I, Vestal (Hybrid/On-Site)

United Health Services is seeking a PACS Application Analyst I to join our IS Ancillary Applications Team in Vestal, NY. The PACS Application Analyst I position Supports the planning, design, development, build and/or configuration of assigned applications/systems This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

PACS Application Analyst I Overview

Performs a variety of duties related to the information technology applications. Responsibilities include assisting with design, development, system configuration, implementation, and support of information systems for the organization, planning development, training and evaluation of application functionality, working with the team and key customers to ensure appropriate development training and implementation of application functionally.

PACS Application Analyst I Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Certified in primary EHR module or application (if applicable), able to demo and explain functionality to end users. Develops knowledge of workflows including documentation of workflow changes of primary module or applications with appropriate supervision. Makes decisions and fixes issues/builds out module with appropriate supervision.
  • Comprehends and documents thoroughly on tickets using appropriate tools and methodologies. Develops testing scripts, KB's/tip sheets and data flow diagrams.
  • Participates in end user learning sessions and/or meetings. Develops meeting preparation materials, agendas, PowerPoint presentations, excel graphics and capturing meeting minutes and action items.
  • Develops understanding of how of functional integrated areas work together, e.g., plan and run, and the transition points across each pillar.
  • Demonstrates understanding of health care regulations and the impact on IS through participation in groups, journal clubs, debates or other IS supported educational workshops. Understands the business area for related certifications and organizational structure for that business unit.
  • Makes decisions within scope of role and responsibility. Able to solve basic problems. Works under supervision from supervisor/peers and routinely seeks advice from peers and direct supervisor. Is able to prioritize work independently and in line with deliverables.
  • Understands the roles of different stakeholders in Cherwell. Demonstrates clear understanding of governance model and prioritization of assignment of work.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize tickets based on priority and respond with appropriate supervision. Manages time to appropriately work tickets and other deliverables. Escalates issues appropriately. Takes the initiative to seek out answers independently prior to escalation and develop ideas for resolution. Seeks out opportunities to learn new aspects of their module/primary application(s).
  • Assumes additional responsibilities to facilitate the achievement of team goals
  • Displays a positive attitude and be open and accepting of change
  • Recommends process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions or enhancements to current configurations.
  • Understands principles of conflict management
  • Initiates collaboration with others and spontaneously assists others in the delivery of their work. Puts the success of the team, project, goals of IS and organization above self-interest.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • One to two (1-2) years of healthcare operations (clinical, patient care, administrative or revenue cycle), information technology or health information technology experience
  • Radiology experience is required for this role

  • For Epic roles: Current Epic certification(s)
        • OR
    • Willing to travel for training and achieve certification within 90 days of completion of training at Epic in application as assigned.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (information technology or clinical/healthcare fields)
  • Current Epic certification(s)
