Operating Room Aide, Wilson Medical Center

United Health Services is seeking Operating Room Aide to join our Wilson Medical Center Operating Room team in Johnson City, NY. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

Shift: Days/Rotation
Hours per week: 40
Salary range: $17.00- $22.95/hour, depending on experience

Operating Room Aide Overview

  • Provides support to the Medical and Nursing staff in the Operating Room Complex and maintains technical competencies as required.

Operating Room Aide Key Responsibilities and Expectations

    • Transports and transfers patient from units and to and from OR table.
    • Performs cleaning duties within the OR suites.
    • Maintains specific OR supply inventories.
    • Holds for preps as necessary.
    • Assists OR team position patients for surgery.
    • Maintains safe corridors - free from clutter. Monitors hallways and removes extraneous equipment, as needed.
    • Supports sterilization and cleaning of instruments.
    • Delivers specimens, equipment, blood, X-rays, and patient records to and from the OR.
    • Stocks supplies and linen as needed.
    • Cleans related areas and equipment as needed.
    • Demonstrate commitment to organizational Values of Compassion, Trust, Respect, Teamwork, and Innovation.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Previous work experience in an Operating Room setting.

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

      • CPR Certification within 3 months of hire
