Position Overview - Full-Time candidates are eligible for up to a $2,500 Sign-On Bonus

  • In a clerical role, the Medical Office Assistant is the customer service liaison to each of our practices. The Medical Office Assistant greets each patient with courtesy and respect using exceptional communication skills. The purpose of this position is to provide our patients with a seamless experience while following all of our Policies regarding registration, scheduling, insurance verification and billing. In a clinical role, the medical assistant performs patient care tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse and/or nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized health care provide.

Position Requirements

  • Education/Experience
    • Minimum Required:
      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • Graduate of an accredited secondary medical assisting program or direct patient care experience in a medical office or /hospital setting, including but not limited to, collection of patient information and data, patient interactions, and assisting physicians with procedures.
    • Preferred:
      • One year of experience in a walk in / primary care/ specialty care hospital setting
      • Certified medical administrative assistant (CMAA)
      • Prior experience with Electronic Health Records Systems
  • License/Certification
    • Minimum Required:
      • Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment.
  • Preferred
    • Current drivers license

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in an office environment that requires working in proximity to other employees and patients.
  • The office is air-conditioned as well as heated.
  • Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
  • Fast-paced environment including frequent interruptions.
  • Frequent walking, standing and bending.
  • Possibility of lifting of patients.
  • Mobility may include access through a multi-level facility, including climbing stairs.
  • PPE- Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, Gloves per UHS Infection Control and CDC guidelines when appropriate.
