  • Position Overview
    • Under direction of the BGH Laboratory Support Services Team Leader, performs daily activities of the Support Services Department based at Binghamton General Hospital. Functions as a Phlebotomist or Medical Office Assistant, fulfilling assignments, on a rotational basis, both within the institution and externally, performing services to off-site locations. Performs tasks such as Test Order Entry, Phlebotomy, and Lab Drop Specimen Processing, Home-Bound Patient Draws and Nursing Home / Assisted Living Center venipunctures. Ability to perform data entry in multiple Information Systems. Responds and interacts with patients and customers in a courteous and professional manner, embracing the concepts and ideals of Service Excellence.
  • Position Requirements
    • Education/Experience
      • Minimum Required:
        • High School Diploma or equivalent
        • 3 months phlebotomy as a primary role
      • Preferred:
        • Completed Phlebotomy Training Program OR other MOA training
        • 1 year inpatient phlebotomy in an acute care setting

    • License/Certification
      • Minimum Required:
        • Not applicable
      • Preferred:
        • MOA or Phlebotomy certification.
