United Health Services (UHS), the leading integrated healthcare system in upstate New York’s Southern Tier region, has an exciting career opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner for UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital (CMH) in beautiful Norwich, NY.

As a rural community hospital with revenue of $80 million, CMH is an important part of the $900+ million, UHS Health System. Reporting to the CMH Vice President of Service Development and Coordination, this position supports the CMH leadership team and works closely with the centralized corporate HR team, enjoying the benefits of working in a large system while functioning as a stand-alone strategic HR Business Partner for a strong, growing and profitable community hospital.

The Human Resources Business Partner must understand their client group's strategic priorities, business imperatives, and day-to-day operations. The Human Resources Business Partner assesses and anticipates HR–related needs; proactively consults with clients and recommends HR strategic solutions to improve critical business outcomes; collaborates and communicates proactively with United Health Services' HR department and business management; seeks to develop integrated solutions across the System; formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization; serves as consultant and adviser to business unit leaders in the effective management of their workforce through implementing performance management, organizational design, job analysis and implementation, change management, talent assessments, leadership development, and succession planning programs. The Human Resources Business Partner will also work closely with the union (SEIU) that represents the Registered Nurses at CMH, which will include day-to-day labor relations activities and a key role in contract negotiations. The successful candidate will act as an employee champion and change agent.

A Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required. Preferred attributes include an MBA or Master’s degree in a related field, HR Certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) and healthcare and union experience.

About UHS Chenango Memorial Hospitals

UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital includes emergency care and medical clinic services such as inpatient and outpatient surgical care units, a women’s health center and a maternity and obstetrics unit. Our Norwich hospital staffs an intensive care unit, general surgery, cardiology, diagnostic heart care center, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging and laboratory departments as well as a 24 hour physician-staffed emergency care department for the Norwich and Chenango County community. Other specialties at our medical clinic include GI (gastro-intestinal/gastroenterology), Podiatry and an Oncology treatment and infusion center. The hospital's second floor is specially designed with a senior living center and a wing dedicated for short-term rehabilitation.

Our Norwich hospital also provides services at an outpatient diagnostic imaging center and a freestanding physical therapy center.
