  • Position Overview
    • Facilitates the structure, process, oversight and accountability of facility coding and health data collection activities to ensure accurate provider documentation and coding (ICD10 and/or CPT) as it relates to appropriate, compliant and optimal reporting and reimbursement of health care services. This position will be responsible for leading coder day-to-day workflow, performance and charge capture. Works under the direction of the Facility Coding Supervisor. Customers served include: HIM Department, Finance, Physicians, and Third Party Payors, Quality Management, Nursing, Registration, Regulatory Agencies, Information Services, Billing, Revenue Integrity and other health care facilitators.
  • Position Requirements
    • Education/Experience
      • Minimum Required:
        • RHIT, RHIA, CCS, COC or CPC certification with documentation of active status.
        • Three plus (3+) years of facility coding and billing experience.
        • Working knowledge of electronic medical record
      • Preferred:
        • Associates degree in Health Information or Health Care related field.
        • Leadership experience
        • Experience with Epic
        • Understanding of reimbursement methodologies
