Graduate Nurse Online Information Session

Wednesday, February 2, 3 to 4 p.m.
Thursday, February 3, 1 to 2 p.m.

Where will you launch your nursing career? UHS is currently accepting applications for graduate nurses to join our team! Recent or soon-to-be nursing graduates are invited to attend one of several online information sessions to learn more about nursing at UHS.

  • Position Overview
    • Responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services Hospitals and the Nursing Division policies and philosophy, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Nurses, Vascular Access Standards, and the Bill of Patient Rights. Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
    • Under limited supervision, provides infusion therapy in a safe and comprehensive manner.
    • Acts as a subject matter expert.
    • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to determine the best methods to meet the vascular access needs of patients.
  • Position Requirements
    • Education/Experience
      • Minimum Required:
        • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN)
        • 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting
      • Preferred:
        • Previous experience as a Vascular Access nurse
        • 4 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting
        • Bachelor Degree in Nursing

    • License/Certification
      • Minimum Required:
        • Current New York State Registered Nurse License
        • CPR within 3 months of hire
      • Preferred:
        • Current certification as a Vascular Access Nurse
