United Health Services is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, NY. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

Respiratory Therapist Overview

To ensure that Respiratory Therapy services rendered (the evaluation and treatment of patients) are completed in a timely, accurate and reliable manner. Those served include inpatients, outpatients, UHS staff and employees as well as affiliated UHS community groups as needed.

Respiratory Therapist Key Responsibilities and Expectations

• Administers respiratory therapy procedures as directed by the manager
• Performs Aerosol Therapy treatments
• Performs CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask therapy (secretion mobilization therapy)
• Performs Incentive Spirometry therapy
• Performs M.D.I. therapy
• Performs Suctioning procedure
• Performs Extubation procedure
• Responsible for Oxygen Tank Safety
• Performs Oxygen Therapy on all approved devices
• Manages BiPAP-CPAP therapy and alarms
• Performs Cough Assist/Vest therapy
• Manages High Flow Cannula/Humidifier therapy and alarms
• Performs Pulmonary Function Screen diagnostic procedure
• Performs Fit Testing procedure in coordination with Employee Health
• Demonstrate commitment to organizational Values of Compassion, Trust, Respect, Teamwork, and Innovation

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

• Graduation from an accredited School for Respiratory Therapy
• New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License
• Registered by the NBRC as a Respiratory Therapist
• CPR and ACLS Certification within 3 months of hire

Preferred:

• One (1) year experience as a Respiratory Therapist
