Mammography Technologist, Vestal NY

United Health Services is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our Vestal Breast Cancer Center in Vestal, NY.

Hours per week: Per Diem
Salary range: $30.13 - $45.19/hour, depending on experience



Ensure that the evaluation of mammography procedures are administered in a fashion that is accurate, timely, responsive and reliable. Customers served include UHSH employees, Medical Staff, patients and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Performs routine mammography as well as bone density scans and biopsy procedures as requested by referring staff.
  • Demonstrates adequate radiation safety practices as it relates to both patients as well as co-workers.
  • Provides patient education as required.
  • Maintains the required number of CEU to maintain mammography certification.
  • Establishes effective communication with referring physicians, radiologists and other department customers to ensure efficient operations.
  • Participates in all Radiology Management System functions as they relate to patient procedures

Position Qualifications

Education/Experience Minimum Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Radiologic Technology, one year experience as a Radiologic Technologist, and advanced certification in mammography.

License/Certification Minimum Required:

  • NYS licensure registration in Radiologic Technology with Mammography credential, ARRT certification
  • CPR certification within first three months of hire.
