Physical Therapist, Chenango Bridge Outpatient Physical Therapy

United Health Services is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our Owego Outpatient Physical Therapy Office, 941 State Route NY-17C, Suite 1, Owego, NY 13827. The Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation office is open 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE/Full Time / Salaried position.

Salary range: $34.76 - $52.14/hour, depending on experience

Physical Therapist Overview

Performs physical therapy treatments, evaluations, and related services as established by state law.

Physical Therapist Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Plans and carries out a physical therapy evaluation which is valid, reliable, and appropriate to the patient.
  • Acquires all pertinent background information relating to the patient and the referral diagnosis.
  • Establishes a physical therapy diagnosis, prognosis, and long-term goals for the patient.
  • Plans and implements a comprehensive physical therapy intervention program.
  • Continually modifies the physical therapy interventions in response to changing patient’s needs.
  • Documents all pertinent patient information relating to the evaluation and treatment program, utilizing UHS EMR and flow sheets in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assigns treatment procedures and supervises the progress of the patients assisted by Physical Therapist Assistants, Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist Technicians and/or Athletic Trainers.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with physicians regarding a patient’s course of treatment and progress.
  • Submits billing for each patient treated in accordance with established corporate policy and insurance/legal guidelines in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Educates patients, family members, and caregivers on home exercise programs, providing direction and written instruction, as appropriate.
  • Notifies the Site Manager of scheduling, supply, or maintenance problems as they arise.
  • Maintains the facility in a clean and organized fashion throughout the day.
  • Maintains own professional growth by attending continuing education courses, clinical in-services, workshops, conferences, and journal clubs.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program with a Bachelor’s degree and/or Masters/Doctorate.
  • Licensed or license-eligible by NY state for Physical Therapy.
  • CPR certification within the first three months of employment.

Preferred:

  • Previous physical therapy experience in an outpatient setting is desired but not essential.
