Pharmacy Technician I, Delaware Valley Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy
United Health Services is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to join our Delaware Valley Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy located at 121 Stockton St., Walton, NY 13856. This is an entry-level position working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE/24 Hours-Week position.

Pharmacy Technician I- Overview
The Pharmacy Tech I employee functions as a generalist, providing support and ensures an ongoing and efficient pharmacy department by assisting in the processing of medications or prescriptions to all patients and appropriate patient care areas.
The Pharmacy Tech I employee assists in the maintenance of a neat and clean dispensing area and performing functions as necessary in the daily routine of the pharmacy department.
Pharmacy Technician I- Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist:
- Assists the pharmacist answering phones, responding to customers.
- Assists in distribution of medications to all patients and nursing units / patient care areas using automated pharmacy technology as required Prepares medications pursuant to orders/prescriptions using the pharmacy management system. This function includes documentation of packaging, pick-up, sorting, counting and return of items to inventory.
- Assists in the preparation of controlled substances for dispensing by pharmacists in accordance to State, Federal and Departmental Regulations.

Position Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Board (PTCB) within eighteen (18) months of employment
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or successful completion of a pharmacy technician training program.
