Patient Care Services Specialist

United Health Services is seeking a Patient Care Services Specialist in the Central Nursing department to join our UHS team. A patient service specialist assists with a variety of different tasks at a hospital or medical facility. Their job duties include checking patient eligibility, scheduling follow-up appointments, developing patient relationships, and helping check patients in and out of the facility. This is a full-time position.

Salary range: $24.94 - $37.42 base pay, depending on experience


Patient Care Services Specialist Overview

Acts as a subject-matter expert for the Patient Care Services Division for budgeting, productivity and data management reporting. This position utilizes technical expertise and advanced knowledge of these systems to produce system solutions and requires the ability to analyze data logically, exercise sound judgment in defining, evaluation and solving difficult technical or operational issues. Identifies process improvement opportunities and assists users in defining needs and proposing solutions. Offers support to all management, staff and appropriate departments or UHS systems as needed. This position will provide analytics for the Patient Care Services Division and any other division or system as requested.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Provides leadership in hospital/division/department budgeting for PCS in building yearly budgets with mangers directors and Vice President. Monitor budgets for variances and provides analysis and support to the management team.
  • Provides leadership in hospital/division/department Productivity analysis for PCS in trending analysis, working with/building supplemental tools and re-basing targets as required.
  • Collaborates effectively with leadership, managers and departments to continually review and improve clinical and business processes.
  • Performs analysis, develop/prepares complex spreadsheets and document processes as required by CNO and directors
  • Strong skills in database development and maintenance with working knowledge of Crystal Reports. Develop tools to streamline and maximize data input and publication as needed.
  • Develops and maintains reporting related to organizational statistics, completes various annual organizational statistics and benchmarking surveys for PCS as needed.
  • Serves as a member of the Clinical Operations Alignment Team (COAT) providing leadership and support for system monitoring data integrity, vision, project management and report development.

Position Qualifications


  • Associate degree with a minimum of five years’ experience in hospital and/or business settings with strong statistical analysis.
  • Experience with hospital budgeting systems.
