Full-time, exempt and seeking both experienced and new graduate Physician Assistants for the UHS Orthopedic Surgery Section. Focused, collaborative environment.

The Physician Assistant will provide health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a physician. Job responsibilities include examining patients, performing comprehensive physical examinations, and compiling patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination, ordering of diagnostic test and interpretation of test results for deviations from normal. Additionally, performing therapeutic procedures, such as injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infections. Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in provision of continuity of care. Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance. Assisting in the operating room, office hours and rotated trauma call. Job Requirements: Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program; Current certificate of registration from the NCCPA. Applicants must be certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS. Previous Orthopedic experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome. Rigorous on the job training from Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeons.
