Office Lead, Oneonta Family Practice

United Health Services is seeking an Office Lead to join our Oneonta Family Practice in Oneonta, NY. Oneonta Family Practice is located at 179 River Street in Oneonta, NY 13820. The office is open 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE/FULL TIME position.

Salary range: $15.75 - $23.62/hour, depending on experience


Office Lead -Overview

The Office lead will work closely with the supervisor and management team to uphold the mission and vision of UHS to ensure Service Excellence, Clinical Excellence, Financial Strength, and Market Growth.

Office Lead -Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Provides general supervision to clerical staff. Monitors workflow and recommends adjustments to office supervisor as needed.
  • Performs staff audits and provides corrective action recommendations on staff errors; provides staff technical support.
  • Trains, orients and mentors new staff members.
  • Interacts with support departments (i.e., Coding, Medical Records, Business Office) to ensure appropriate office service delivery standards.
  • Monitors provider schedules to maximize efficiency, makes recommendations to office supervisor as needed.
  • Reviews all system generated reports (i.e., registration, worklist, and open encounters) and makes appropriate reconciliation recommendations.
  • Coordinates monthly departmental meetings. Documents agenda minutes and action items. Attends monthly meetings as requested by management team.
  • Advises office supervisor of non-compliance with UHS policies/procedures.
  • Responds to patient inquiries and complaints timely and document when appropriate.
  • Acts as backup for office staff.

Position Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One Year previous medical office experience


  • Associate or bachelor’s degree
