Full-time, exempt and seeking both experienced and new, motivated graduated Nurse Practitioners

This position will accept both Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant candidates in our new Trauma Center. The Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (Trauma APP) coordinates clinical management of trauma patientsthroughout the continuum of care in collaboration with the attending trauma surgeon. The Trauma APP collaborates with the entire interdisciplinary trauma team ensuring continuity of high-quality care, family support, implementation of best practices and timely provision of clinical services. Minimum requirements are Masters of Science in Nursing or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant Program; current NYS license; BLS for Healthcare Provider, ACLS and PALS Provider; ATLS physician extender certification (within 6 month of hire); Three (3) years of relevant trauma clinical experience; Demonstration of clinical decision making skills.

Ability to effectively communicate with medical staff, healthcare clinicians, patients, families and the public; Strong computer skills; Ability to establish priorities and complete activities independently or with limited supervision. Preferable Characteristics are American College of Surgeons ATLS Course Coordinator; ACLS and/or PALS Instructor; If Nurse Practitioner:
· Completion of Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) Course
· Board certification as a Trauma Credentialed Trauma Nurse (TCRN)
