The Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) provider will provide health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of physicians by performing comprehensive physical examinations and providing preop assessments, intraop and post op care.
Full-time, exempt and seeking both experienced and new, motivated graduate Burse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. We have opportunities for both non operative and operative APPs.
This position will also initiate arrangements for hospital discharges and complete appropriate paperwork along with administering and ordering diagnostic test and interpreting the test results for deviations from normal. They will also develop and implement patient management plans, electronic medical records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care and instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance.
Duties include assisting in the Operating Room when needed, on the average 20 hours per week. Will conduct ICU and floor rounds at the hospitals. There will be 1 in 3 weekend coverage (ideally 1 in 4 when fully staffed). Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program and have current certification.
