  • Position Overview
    • The Mobile Integrated Health Community Paramedic supports the delivery of patient-centered services within the home and other non-traditional care settings. In a clinical role, the MIH Community Paramedic facilitates a virtual / telehealth encounter between the patient and health care provider and performs patient care tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse and/or nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized health care provider. As a member of the care team, the MIH Community Paramedic may provide care coordination. The MIH Community Paramedic may deploy or troubleshoot remote patient monitoring equipment in the home.
  • Position Requirements
    • Education/Experience
      • Minimum Required:
        • High school diploma or equivalent.
        • One year of experience with an ambulance service or advanced life support first response service
      • Preferred:
        • Associates Degree in Emergency Medical Technology/technician: paramedic.
        • Previous experience in a walk-in/primary care/specialty care setting.
        • Two years of experience with an ambulance service or advanced life support first response team.

    • License/Certification
      • Minimum Required:
        • New York State certificate as a Paramedic or obtains a New York State Paramedic certificate as a Paramedic through reciprocity prior to official start date.
        • Documentation of current CPR certification required within one (1) week of start of employment.
      • Preferred:
        • National certification as a Paramedic (NRP).
        • Certified community Paramedic (CP-C).
