United Health Services is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our Imaging department at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. This is a benefits-eligible position.

Salary: $15 - $20.25/hour, depending on experience

Medical Receptionist Position Overview

Medical Receptionists provide exceptional customer service for our patients. Working with other employees, nurses, and providers, the Medical Receptionist plays a key role is helping patients have a seamless experience during their visit. In addition to interacting with patients, the Medical Receptionist also performs office functions such as registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing.

UHS Wilson Medical Center offers a range of imaging services using the latest technologies and equipment, including the area’s only pediatric CT scanner. A high-volume department, UHS Imaging at Wilson is equipped to perform x-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, cardiac CTA and calcium scoring CT scans, interventional radiology/nuclear medicine, and more. United Health Services’ imaging departments are accredited by the American College of Radiology.

Medical Receptionist Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Perform various clerical functions including managing the front desk, posting and collecting mail, answering phones, and using radiology software
  • Effectively communicate with referring physicians, radiologists, and technical staff to ensure proper maintenance of patient radiology records and images
  • Provide assistance in training new employees
  • Maintain UHS images and records, including imports of images from other providers
  • Treat all patients, family, and other visitors with respect and compassion

Position Qualifications

Minimum Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic typing skills and knowledge of general office procedures
  • Previous experience with customer service and public contact


  • Pervious experience in an imaging department
  • Basic knowledge of radiographic tests
  • Some knowledge of medical terminology
