Medical Receptionist

United Health Services is now hiring a Medical Receptionist to join our team. Various positions are eligible for benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement plan with company match, and paid time off. Shifts: Days, generally 8am-5pm
Hours per week: 28
Salary Range: $16.35-$22.13

Overview

A medical receptionist is the customer service liaison to each of our practices. As the first point of contact, the MR will greet each patient with courtesy and warmth, using exceptional communication skills, and live our values of Compassion, Trust, Respect, Teamwork, and Innovation.

The purpose of this position is to provide our patients with a seamless and hospitable experience providing patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing, while supporting administrative tasks as requested by leadership.

Medical Receptionist Key Responsibilities and Expectations

    • Greets customers with a positive and friendly approach at every interaction.
    • Provides detailed quality service via phone, electronic messaging or in person.
    • Performs registration, scheduling and insurance verification as outlined by UHS Policy.
    • Maintains an awareness of patient wait times and works with team to provide updated information regarding any delays.
    • Answers patient questions and provide information as necessary in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
    • Balances financial drawer and batches at the completion of each day.
    • Analyzes financial work list and take corrective actions as directed.
    • Maintains awareness of supplies, restocks and orders as necessary.
    • Scans documents into Next Gen as outlined by UHS Policy.
    • Always maintains a clean and organized work area.
    • Promotes and facilitates the compliance and of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards.
    • Participates in Performance Improvement activities within the office.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Previous medical, administrative and customer service experience
  • Proficient PC skills in Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology and EPIC software
