Manager Procurement Operations Position Overview

Acts as daily operations manager to provide leadership and coordination of Procurement functions for all system entities. Provides guidance and direction to front line Procurement staff for supply and equipment procurement activities to include interfacing with customers and vendors.

Manager Procurement Operations Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Oversees and coordinates the day to day procurement operations to include the timely procurement and delivery of supplies, services and equipment. This includes proactive facilitation of distribution related functions with all supply chain team members and customers. Works with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction with services provided.
  • Develops and implements annual Procurement team goals and objectives in coordination with the System Director of Procurement and Sr. Director of Supply Chain
  • Leads Value Analysis Teams and other project groups related to clinical supply and capital equipment trials and implementations across the system
  • Meets with vendors for contract negotiations and ensures vendor compliance and credentialing for all vendors calling on UHS team members.
  • Acts as point of contact with UHS’s GPO (Group Purchasing Organization) (Vizient) to collaborate on contract participation, compliance and standardization for the $85M in annual spend.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, (2) years Purchasing background with leadership experience or Associates Degree in Applied Science or Business or related field with (5) years Purchasing background and leadership experience
