Home Care Clinical Manager, Binghamton NY

United Health Services’ Home Care Division is seeking a Clinical Manager to join our team in Binghamton, NY. United Health Services (UHS) is the leading provider of home care services in the greater Binghamton community. We offer skilled nursing at home, medical equipment and supplies for the home, and long-term care. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

Home Care Clinical Manager Overview

UHS is the area’s leading provider of home care services. Our home care programs offer a wide array of services, including highly skilled, specialized nursing care, monitors and nutritional supplies, durable medical equipment and many therapies. Of particular interest to those with heart conditions include: Heart at Home, Home Telemonitoring, Home Emergency Alarm Response system, non-invasive ventilation therapy, and specialized care in your home.

Home Care Clinical Manager Key Responsibilities and Expectations

    • Manages the delivery of nursing and therapy services to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
    • Responsible for ensuring coordination of patient care to promote positive patient outcomes and positive patient experience.
    • Orients and supervises professional staff to ensure the delivery of high quality and cost effective service. Performs required performance appraisals for all assigned staff.
    • Ensures focus and activities that support clinical department metrics by ensuring timely and accurate documentation, clinician productivity at agency standard and ensures measures are cost effective.
    • Partners with the Clinical Management Team (CMT) on clinical issues and provides support to clinicians as needed.
    • Provides information and makes recommendations to the VP of Clinical Services regarding clinical program policy.
    • Assists Clinical Educator in planning and conducting the agency’s orientation program for new professional staff and ongoing education and competency needs for clinical staff.
    • Ensures adequate staffing coverage and oversees work schedules for weekday and evening hours. Works with the CMT to ensure an efficient and effective flow of information throughout the system.
    • Ensures that all staff meet regulatory and agency in-service education requirements as well as clinical standards as evidenced by at a minimum annual field observations.
    • Acts as a program liaison with the telemonitor vendor and provides oversight of the agency telemonitor program.
    • Uses a customer-focused approach when collaborating with the Agency’s customers, including co-workers, patients, physicians and staff from community agencies and institutions.
    • Supports the Corporate Compliance Program by adhering to the UHS Home Care at Twin Tier Home Health Policies, Procedures & Department Manuals of the organization. Employee will attend all mandatory in-services and annual training programs relating to Corporate Compliance. Assures that activities that employee is responsible for comply with any federal and state regulations. Reports and corrects any such conflicts which may arise.
    • Assumes supervisory on-call responsibilities and acts as a resource person to field staff.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to UHS Home Care at Twin Tier Home Health policies and HIPAA regulations governing confidentiality and security of protected health information for both manual and electronic patient records, charts, information, and other confidential information including (but not limited to) employee records, computer access codes and passwords.

Position Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
    • Two years of home care experience as a community health nurse
    • NYS RN licensure or eligible
