  • Position Overview
    • Responsible for Professional Fee Coding, including maintaining the highest level of compliance in all areas including but not limited to clinical documentation, diagnosis coding, charge capture and abstracting of all required data elements from the patient record. Manages provider education and compliance oversight for all areas appropriate. Escalating identified areas for concern and integrating with the overall Compliance Program. Develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures and systems for proper coding, compliance tracking and reporting ensuring compliance with CMS, HIPAA, Office of Inspector General and other governmental and regulatory agencies. Recommends the structure, process, oversight and accountability of organizational coding and health data collection activities to ensure accurate provider documentation and coding as it relates to appropriate, compliant and optimal reporting and reimbursement of health care services. Manages, plans and coordinates all services related to coding workflow, productivity and performance.
  • Position Requirements
    • Education/Experience
      • Minimum Required:
        • Bachelor’s Degree with 1+ years of coding supervisory/management experience, plus demonstrated leadership experience.
        • Previous experience managing professional fee coding in a multi-specialty clinic, academic facility or a multi-hospital system.
        • Electronic Health Record experience.
        • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to the healthcare industry.
        • Health Care Compliance certification is strongly recommended within the first year of employment.
      • Preferred:
        • Bachelor's with 5+ years physician practice coding.
        • Project Management Experience.

    • License/Certification
      • Minimum Required:
        • CPC, or CCS, or RHIA, or RHIT credentials
      • Preferred:
        • CHC Certification
