Licensed Practical Nurse LPN, Neurology

United Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Neurology Department in Johnson City, NY. The Neurology office is a busy office open 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE, Full Time position.

Salary range: $23.56 - 31.88/hour, depending on experience

Neurology LPN Overview

The neurosurgery LPN provides personal care and health teaching under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to meet the needs of patient and family, consistent with the policies and procedures of the Nursing Division and United Health Services Hospitals. Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Provides basic care to patients including activities of daily living and personal needs.
  • Measures and records a variety of clinical measurements (i.e., vital signs, patient weight, intake and output).
  • Ensures the patient has a comfortable and safe environment. Follows Patient Rounding standards.
  • Communicates regularly with the Registered Nurse about patient condition according to unit standards.
  • In conjunction with the Registered Nurse, assists with patient admissions, documenting and reporting problems or symptoms, and utilizing the patient plan of care.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications.
  • Complies with organizational and departmental ergonomic & safety principles while performing all work-related activities.
  • Demonstrate commitment to organizational Values of Compassion, Trust, Respect, Teamwork, and Innovation.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • Current NY State LPN license.
  • Documentation of current CPR certification required within 3 Months of start of employment.

Preferred:

  • Previous Experience in Walk in Setting
