Location: Johnson City, NY
Shift: Days, 7 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Hours per Week: 40
Salary Range: Depends on experience

United Health Services is seeking a registered nurse to join our Infection Control Department in Johnson City. This department plays an invaluable role in keeping our patients, employees, and visitors safe when it comes to preventing infection and the spread of disease. In this position, you will work on the prevention, surveillance, and control of infections, using your nursing experience and skillset. Our collaborative Infection Control Department has been instrumental in helping to manage the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Infection Control Nurse Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct infection surveillance activities per regulatory standards, including identification of nosocomial infections, clusters, and outbreaks and implement infection control measures
  • Collaborate with health regulatory agencies to report communicable diseases and provide follow up as required
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records
  • Assist in educating employees, patients, and families regarding communicable diseases and infection prevention
  • Collaborate with admissions and other departments to ensure patient isolation requirements are met and provide information and advice to nurses, providers, and other hospital personnel regarding proper implementation of isolation procedures
  • Participate, as needed, on hospital committees and taskforces that related to infection prevention activities and initiatives
  • Demonstrate alignment with United Health Services’ commitment to provide exceptional, patient-centered care and uphold our Values of Compassion, Trust, Respect, Teamwork, and Innovation

Position Qualifications


  • Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS) degree with five years of clinical or infection prevention experience
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License or eligibility


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree with at least three years of clinical or infection prevention experience
  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC)
