Information Systems Project Manager, Lewis Road

United Health Services is seeking an Information Systems (IS) Project Manager to join our our team in Binghamton, NY. The IS Project Manager plays a key in support of digital transformation, key organizational and other mission critical projects and initiatives. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

Information Systems Project Manager Overview

• The IS Project Manager will manage enterprise projects to include technical, technology, clinical, business, strategic and improvement projects. They will work closely with Stakeholders to initiate, plan and execute projects as well as IT services project deliverables. Outstanding team orientation, project service delivery and customer service is essential to this position.

• Will be assigned to Enterprise EHR/EMR projects and initiatives, including Epic related projects including optimization, testing, upgrades and implementation of new products.

• Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including stakeholders, end users, distributors, and vendors. Ensures adherence to quality standards and project deliverables.

• Acts as an ambassador to organization wide IS division integration of consistent project management methodologies, delivery standards, tools and terminology based on Project Management Institute (PMI) best practice.

• Works closely with and communicates with all applicable project stakeholders to keep them abreast of project status.

Information Systems Project Manager Key Responsibilities and Expectations

    • Establishes Project Deliverables and Scope: Records detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders in order to establish the project deliverables, using requirements gathering techniques (e.g., planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups) and the project charter.
    • Establishes Project Management Plan: Following project management methodologies, works with Stakeholders to develop the project management plan in support of project deliverables. Establishes appropriate project controls, plans, schedules, tasks, teams, phases and project milestones.
    • Management, Monitors and Controls Project (s): Measures project scope and performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of the project, identifies and quantifies any variances, performs any required corrective actions, and communicates to all stakeholders. This includes managing issues, risks and decisions and escalating to appropriate parties when needed.
    • Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques in order to keep the project plan accurate, updated, reflective of authorized project changes as defined in the change management plan, and facilitates customer acceptance.
    • Implements approved corrective actions for any project variances and action plans.
    • Closes projects and transitions to operations according to UHS and Project Management standards.
    • Provides weekly project status reports to Manager on projects being managed.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Associate's degree and PMI Certification within 12 to 24 months of hire

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree in Information Systems or related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field
  • 5-7 Years of Project Management experience
  • 8 years of Healthcare experience including business acumen, healthcare information systems and integration, information and data management
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
