  • Position Overview
    • Under the general direction of the Manager, HIM Systems, serves as the primary resource for the Horizon Patient Folder System. Responsibilities include monitoring the system, troubleshooting issues, customer support to ensure ongoing satisfaction to all users, building and supporting workflow and developing and distributing reports. Also participates in all software development testing, user training, development of policies and procedures, and understands the integration of all systems that affect department operations.
  • Position Requirements
    • Education/Experience
      • Minimum Required:
        • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field or 5 years’ experience in HIM, Systems, Informatics.
        • Two to three years of related experience, which included experience in a medical record environment, programming experience or systems analyst experience.
      • Preferred:
        • Experience in automated HIM systems in a network environment.
        • Previous leadership and electronic medical record experience.
        • SQL Certification preferred or SQL query writing experience.
        • Demonstrates strong working knowledge of medical record processes, as well as applicable rules and regulations (e.g. Joint Commission, ISDH, CMS, etc.)
        • Strong analytical, detail oriented, and organizational skills in order to maintain and monitor system in coordination with user needs.
        • Must be able to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks and priorities.
        • Must provide leadership and project management for system implementations, upgrades and process redesign.
        • Demonstrates ability to develop training programs and conduct training for employees on the application and new processes.

        • RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator).
