Director, Revenue/HIM Application Overview

The Revenue/HIM Application Director is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the department for service lines and applications within their assigned area of responsibility. The Application Director is accountable for application build, design, maintenance, support activities, and ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope/budget, and with efficient and productive use of resources.

Director, Revenue/HIM Application Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Act as the central point of communication for the application teams and business leaders

  • Mentor and guide the analyst team, build and maintain morale

  • Be committed to adhering to organizational management guidelines and policies.

  • Demonstrate commitment to organizational Values of Compassion, Trust, Respect, Teamwork, and Innovation

  • Develop, maintain, and implement plans for managing resources efficiently and effectively

  • Provides consultation and support to customers in the development and maintenance of needs, ongoing project plans, and training

  • Works with leadership to develop operational goals consistent with the priorities of the organization and needs of the business units

  • Responsible for budget determinations, resource allocations, and timelines for all projects under scope of direction

  • Monitors and reports overall performance of information systems on a regular basis to ensure quality, efficiency, and accurate

  • Provides status reports on projects and system support activities as needed. When appropriate, provides presentations to customers and staff at all levels of the organization

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related healthcare field, required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years related healthcare IT experience including two (2) years of healthcare IT project management experience, required.
  • Experience directing and managing complex systems or implementations for hospitals and physician practices medical centers
  • Epic experience in PB, HB, Cadence, Prelude, Claims, and/or Grand Central
  • Current Epic certification(s) or must be willing to travel for training and achieve certification within 90 days of completion of training at Epic within one of the core applications of job responsibility.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree
  • Revenue cycle operations experience
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification or equivalent certification
  • Experience managing capital (P&L) expense budgets.
