United Health Services is seeking a full-time Director of Cardiac Services to coordinate business operations and compliance for its cardiovascular service lines. The Director of Cardiac Services position is located in Johnson City, New York. The successful candidate will join United Health Services’ Cardiac Division, where we bring patients the latest care and treatment for heart and vascular conditions from leading New York cardiologists, heart doctors, and cardiothoracic surgeons—it’s something we’ve been doing since we brought the Heart Surgery Program to the Southern Tier in 1989.

In addition, United Health Services is one of the few hospitals in the area that use the new, minimally invasive transcatheter aortic valve replacement procedure. Our Cardiac Division focuses on advanced diagnostic procedures for vascular conditions and is dedicated to ongoing quality assurance for vascular care. United Health Services is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories and was one of the first healthcare systems in the United States and Canada to receive this distinction.

Director of Cardiac Services Responsibilities

  • Leads cardiology services including the cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology lab, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiac research institute, open heart perfusionists, and cardiology data coordination
  • Provides leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of current and new programs/services within cardiology
  • Ensures staff, provider, and patient needs are met by soliciting ideas, participation, and opinions from the program team on planning, developing, implementing and evaluating services
  • Monitors/evaluates the fiscal performance of cardiology services and identifies and implements corrective measures to enhance profitability
  • Acts as a community liaison to external agencies and is responsible for interdisciplinary coordination of program development through marketing and communication efforts

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent
  • Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare setting including involvement with physicians, community, program planning and implementation, and operations

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited program with experience in cardiology services program development
