  • Position Overview
    • The Outpatient Dietitian works to meet the nutritional and educational needs of the community by counseling the high nutritional risk patients referred to him/her by the medical provider. The Outpatient Dietitian recommends implements and provides education on specific nutrients and/or therapeutic diets to clients for disease prevention and management. This service is performed in the UHS Physician Practice offices.
  • Position Requirements
    • Education/Experience
      • Minimum Required:
        • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field plus successful completion of a supervised practice program for nutrition.
        • One year experience in the dietetics field.
      • Preferred:
        • Previous clinical experience in an acute care teaching facility.
        • Previous outpatient counseling experience.

    • License/Certification
      • Minimum Required:
        • Registered Dietitian.
        • NYS certification as a dietitian-nutritionist (CDN)
      • Preferred:
        • Not Applicable
