Clinic Coordinator RN position Overview
The Cardiothoracic Clinic Coordinator, RN manages patient care from pre-assessment testing to hospital discharge and post-operative care. This position navigates multiple roles and responsibilities to ensure smooth clinic function, coordination of care, coordination of resources and optimum patient experience. The incumbent coordinates testing and treatment for patients, collaborates with physicians and other health care workers to provide comprehensive care, monitors the patient care process to ensure quality outcomes, and collects data to evaluate and improve care. Also serves as a patient advocate, maintains adherence to UHS’ Service Delivery Standards, takes responsibility for other department and organizational objectives and works closely with the Medical Director of the Program. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services Hospitals and Nursing Division policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights.
