  • Position Overview
    • Facilitates patient/injured worker through the healthcare system while managing timely, appropriate, and cost effective care. Provides pre- certification, concurrent, and retrospective utilization review. Assures that the medical care is progressing effectively and identifies problems related to that care and takes action to alter the care for improved outcomes. Focuses efforts on a safe and expedited return to work. Serves as a liaison between all parties involved in the workers’ compensation claim, including the physicians, the injured worker, the employer and the insurance company.
  • Position Requirements
    • Education/Experience
      • Minimum Required:
        • Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing
        • Two years of acute care nursing experience or two years prior nurse case management experience
      • Preferred:
        • BSN
        • NYS Workers’ Compensation experience including utilization review
        • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft applications

    • License/Certification
      • Minimum Required:
        • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in NYS
        • CPR certified or must obtain within 3 months of hire
      • Preferred:
        • Certified Case Manager (CCM) or must obtain within 18 months of hire
