Reporting to the Medical Director, Addiction Medicine, and the Medical Director, Psychiatry, the Behavioral Health Business Manager works in conjunction with the Director of Nursing, Administrative Director of Behavioral Health, Associate Director of Mental Health, and other leaders to provide leadership of UHS Behavioral Health Program. The Behavioral Health Business Manager provides strategic planning, fiscal management, project leadership, and analytical support for all Behavioral Health departments including, Inpatient and Outpatient Behavioral Health departments, the Behavioral Health Emergency Department, and Inpatient/ Outpatient Addictions Medicine. Working closely with administration, Behavioral Health physicians, and staff, as well as various related departments, the Behavioral Health Business Manager optimizes the performance of behavioral health departments. Success in this role is measured by improving patient experience, financial output, and physician/ provider and staff engagement/morale.

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, accounting, analytics, business, economics, finance, IT, nursing or related field required along with three plus years of experience in healthcare, accounting, analytics, business, economics, finance, IT, nursing or related field.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in healthcare, accounting, analytics, business, economics, finance, IT, nursing or related field along with five plus years of experience in healthcare, accounting, analytics, business, economics, finance, IT, nursing or related field preferred.
  • Also preferred: Working knowledge of the behavioral health workflow; Provider engagement experience; Strategic planning experience; Budgeting and capital planning experience; Ability to gather and analyze complex data sets including, but not limited to, healthcare quality data, cost data and efficiency data; Reporting and benchmarking experience; Experience building and/or using data dashboards and scorecards; Previous supervisory experience; Project management experience or skills; Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience; and Understanding of clinical service lines.
  • PMP or CAPM certification (Project Management), or desire to achieve within 2 years of hire; Lean Six Sigma certification (e.g. Green- or Black Belt), or desire to achieve within 2 years of hire; Epic training and/or certification (EHR) preferred.
