Audiologist, Johnson City

United Health Services is seeking an Audiologist to join our Audiology Team at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. The Audiologist ensures that clinical Audio logical services are administered and completed; in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position. This position is Monday – Friday daytime with no weekends or holidays!!

Audiologist Overview

To ensure that clinical Audiological services are administered and completed in a timely, accurate and reliable manner. Those served include inpatients and outpatients, patients requiring care in the home, nursing home patients, United Health Services Hospitals staff, employees affiliated with UHS Inc., vendors, and community groups as needed. Priority is given to services which directly affect patients and students.

UHS Wilson Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center and the region’s designated stroke and chest pain center, operates a high-volume, fast-paced Emergency Department.

Audiologist Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Applies the accepted principles, methods and procedures of measurement, prediction, non-medical diagnosis and testing to individual patients (and their families or significant others) in relationship to auditory and/or vestibular disorders.
  • Administers, interprets and supervises Clinical Audiological Services.
  • Performs complete audiological evaluations (air, bone, and speech)
  • Performs middle ear analysis.
  • Performs site of lesion testing.
  • Performs ototoxic medication monitoring.
  • Performs NICU hearing screening.
  • Performs CAP testing.
  • Performs Electro-physiological testing.
  • Performs Industrial hearing screening.
  • Performs hearing aid evaluations.
  • Performs selection, fitting and follow-up of amplification devices.
  • Performs counseling for hearing-impaired individuals or groups.
  • Performs minor repair and modification of hearing instruments.
  • Assists with program development.
  • Collects needed data for Continuing Quality Assurance programs.
  • Provides services referred by physicians or mandated by New York State.
  • Maintains contracts as a community provider.
  • Responsible for gathering necessary data for statistical review.
  • Prepares appropriate reports for distribution to referring physicians on diagnostic finding and recommendations for rehabilitation on patients.
  • Maintains all medical records for compliance with OSHM, JCAHO, and standards of Certifying Organizations.
  • Abides by Service Delivery Standards.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Master’s Degree in Audiology
  • New York State License or eligibility

Preferred:

  • Previous hospital experience
