Ambulatory Application Analyst II, Binghamton (Remote)

United Health Services is seeking an Ambulatory Application Analyst II to join our Epic Ambulatory Applications Team in Binghamton, NY. The Inpatient Application Analyst II position Supports the planning, design, development, build and/or configuration of assigned applications/systems This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

Ambulatory Application Analyst II Overview

Responsible for identifying, evaluating, analyzing and recommending changes in support of assigned applications/systems including ongoing production maintenance and trouble-shooting. Supports the planning, design, development, build and/or configuration of assigned applications/systems. Leads and/or coordinates conversions, application/system testing and documentation of system procedures. Participates and provides input in training design and development and assists in training execution in relation to assigned projects. Provides go-live support and serves as primary point of contact for ongoing maintenance/support and trouble-shooting.

Ambulatory Application Analyst II Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Certified in primary EHR module or application (if applicable) and proficient in multiple other modules or applications. Prepares and leads workflow/functional demos independently. Demonstrates high quality trouble shooting skills and system build with minimal supervision. Participates in projects as SME for applications/modules. Serves as a resource the analyst I.
  • Demonstrates understanding of policies, procedures, and processes. Develops understanding of cross functional teams within IS and impacts of build to upstream and downstream processes and/or applications/teams.
  • Is able to support ticket resolution for multiple modules. Leads end user learning sessions and/or meetings with various groups including the help desk and/or other IS teams. Frames up decisions using the appropriate analysis and presentation tools and methodologies.
  • Develops a deep understanding of IS functional areas across IS, e.g., networking, security, telecom, servers, infrastructure, interfaces. Understands the roles and responsibilities within each functional area and key contacts for collaboration on issues.
  • Develops robust understanding of end to end business unit (e.g., RCO / Clinical) and how workflows, decisions and build align across functional areas. Forms appropriate opinions on how Health Care policy and business processes/policies impact workflow and build decisions and offers innovative solutions to incorporate those regulations and policies into making processes better.
  • Able to solve more complex problems that span across multiple teams. Provides support to Analyst I when needed to help with decision-making and prioritization of work. Develops solutions to new issues, relays new workflows to customers with minimal assistance.
  • Identifies and engages key stakeholders. Effectively presents options, pros and cons and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Leads key groups of activities specific to end user support. Effectively facilitates meetings with key stakeholders and manages action items through completion/resolution. Demonstrates competency through mentoring their peers. Takes the lead for activities within a group setting, e.g., leading huddles, leading a lean initiative, conducting training with peers, etc.
  • Seeks to work with teams with complementary skills/expertise
  • Considers problems from new perspectives and can expand on the thinking or solutions proposed by others
  • Is considered a go-to resource for reviewing updates/upgrades from the vendor (i.e. vendor document review), tickets, change management, projects, or upgrade related build.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities to facilitate the achievement of team goals. Conducts learning sessions within team and across the department.
  • Self-assesses against standards for current position to identify learning needs. Effectively transfers acquired knowledge and expertise. Solicits constant feedback for improvement from peers and supervisor.
  • Contributes to improve work methods, outcomes and team performance
  • Looks for ways to add value beyond clients' immediate requests and acts on them
  • Investigates, escalates, and develops recommendations for resolution.
  • Initiates collaboration with others and spontaneously assists others in the delivery of their work. Puts the success of the team, project, goals of IS and organization above self-interest.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Two to three (2-3) years of healthcare operations (clinical, patient care, administrative or revenue cycle), information technology or health information technology experience.
        • OR
    • Demonstrated competency in Applications Analyst I role

  • For Epic roles: Current Epic certification(s)
        • OR
    • Willing to travel for training and achieve certification within 90 days of completion of training at Epic in application as assigned.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (information technology or clinical/healthcare fields)
  • Current Epic certification(s)
